What you'll do?
What to expect
Your tour begins with a visit to Budapest’s Great Market Hall, where you’ll receive a helpful overview of the Hungarian produce. Your private guide will educate you about use of the country’s renowned paprika spice, as well as local meats and vegetables. Become a quick expert on how Hungarian meals are prepared while taking note of the ingredients called for in famous dishes.
After leaving the Great Market Hall, the next stop will take you through the city to the popular butchers and patisseries to sample classic delicacies like kolbasz (Hungarian sausage) and Dobos Torta, a sponge cake layered with chocolate butter cream and topped off with caramel. The delicacies provided will vary depending on the time of year that you visit.
After you have some food in your stomach, you’ll travel to a local shop for the wine-tasting portion of the tour. You’ll be offered three traditional Hungarian wines as your guide reveals the history and secrets behind each variety. The tour will conclude at a wine bar just a short walk from the Great Market Hall.
